Typography

Poppins & Open Sans. Bitwards’ visual identity includes two typefaces, both of which represent well the modern technological solution and new contemporary access control services developed by Bitwards.

In addition, the Arial font available on each computer is used when Poppins or Open Sans cannot be used. Other typefaces or handwritten textual illustrations are not allowed.

Poppins

Poppins in headlines. The sans-serif font Poppins has been chosen for use in headings. The typeface represents modernity, flexibility and forward movement. Additionally, particularly the Semibold and Bold cuts represent strength, durability, and even audacity. The font is available in three different weights: Medium, Semibold, and Bold.

Open Sans

Open Sans in body text. The Open Sans font is used in body text for its readability. Bitwards has previously used Open Sans as their basic font in digital and print products, and will continue to do so.

Three weights of the font are used: Regular, Semibold, and Bold.

Font sizes & line spacing

Headings. The pixel size of the font and the line height should be at least the same. For example, if the font size is 48 pixels, the line height should be at least the same as the font size or a maximum of 10 pixels larger.

Body text. In text paragraphs, the font size is at least 16px/11pt and the line height should be at least 115%.

Avoid using capital letters

The modern and flexible visual concept includes writing text in its basic form with uppercase and lowercase letters. The use of capital letters should be avoided as it makes reading the text more difficult and slower.

Contrast, hierargy & readability

When formatting text, make sure to use a sufficient font size of at least 16px (for digital products) and 11 pt (for print products).

Also ensure the text color contrast with the background color to ensure readability. Avoid using text over a photo background!

It’s important for accessibility to clearly display the hierarchy and size differences between different elements. Clearly differentiate between the main heading, introduction, subheading, and body text.
